Did you know Berlin, Germany has more than 140 museums? Did you know that this city has more than 1400 bridges, and besides all that more than 100 other places of interest? Read on to find out. With about 3,400,000 inhabitants, Berlin is the largest city in Germany. It is 38 kilometers long and 45 kilometers wide. Does that Berlin has many suburbs and neighborhoods. As you know, was the city in its history. Will recognize that it is / was then East Berlin and West Berlin has a "City East" and "City West". You can have four different options. 1. Aircraft - Berlin has three airports. 2nd By train - is a node in the German rail network. For example, the station "Bahnhof Zoo" is located in Belin Mitte (City East), so you have "immediate access" to a lot of sights and pubs. 3rd By Car - All roads lead to Berlin "Berliner Ring". From there you can reach the inner city on various access roads. 4th By Bus - is a good price and convenient way to travel in this city (or another). The "Zentraler Omnibus Bahnhof" is (ZOB - Central Bus Station) is located near the Exhibition Center (ICC), in Charlottenburg, City West. From there, you have connections to over 350 destinations in Germany and Europe! Now we begin? Okay, c'mon, take my hand, let's go sightseeing! :-) The Reichstag Reichstag was built in 1884-94 by Paul Wallot, is the seat of the German Bundestag or federal government and, with its new transparent dome, one of the biggest draws crowd in Berlin. Its colorful past reflects the turbulence of German history since the 19th century. From 1994-99, the Reichstag was built and enlarged by Sir Norman Forster. He decided to add a dome open, accessible, inwhich you can walk through and "participate" and view how political decisions are made. One says: "We (the government) want to show that we have something to hide." Go to http://www.smart-travel-germany.com/berlin.html For more information on this monumental building. Friedrichstrasse This is the most legendary street in the city. The new Berlin architecture combines with the tradition of the "Golden Twenties". The twenties was the 3.5-mile street route to happiness palace's ้ cafes, theaters and a variety of theaters such as the famous "Wintergarten". After the split of the city, the Wall also cut through this street. The famous Checkpoint Charlie is located on the border between the districts of Kreuzberg and Mitte and thus at the border between East and West. Not just visitors but also workers from the new, chic offices, agencies and media centers all enjoy the urban spirit and traditions from New York of the new Friedrichstrasse. Checkpoint Charlie From 1961 to 1990 was Checkpoint Charlie, the only border crossing for the Allies, foreigners, employees of the Permanent Representation, and officials in the GDR. And it was the place where Soviet and American tanks stood face to face. Today, the checkpoint is commemorated by a border sign and mail from a soldier. Stuck for a moment, will the second part soon :-) Then you can proceed with your Sightseeing Tour of Berlin. Where we will go to places such as Alexanderplatz, the Brandenburg Gate and Museum Island.
